Assistant Director of Residential Education 2017 – Present

Agnes Scott College, Office of Residence Life Decatur, GA

  • Develop the residence education curriculum for Living Learning Communities, special interest housing and educational student programming.
  • Co-advise the Generating Excellence in Math and Science (GEMS) Living Learning Community for first year students.
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of administrative and academic departments across the college community to develop and promote a robust residential co-curricular experience for students. 
  • Conduct formal and informal assessments to determine the programming needs of residents.
  • Created three new upperclass student Living Learning Communities for Fall 2018; the Global Learning House, Leadership Development House and STEM House
  • Manage the residential programming budget
  • Previously responsible for wellness programing on campus and Title IX training for student leaders.  
  • Serve in the Dean of Students on-call rotation responding to campus emergencies including physical health, mental health, drug prevention and major facilities concerns.

  • Organize and lead student trainings on a wide range of topics including integrity, emergency response, building community in the residence hall and facilitating mediations.

  • Lead weekly staff meetings of 28 student and paraprofessional staff members.
  • Manage budgets of 10 student Resident Assistants and three Living Learning Communities.
  • Responsible for managing the programming budget, purchasing necessary items, and filing expense reports

Graduate Hall Director 2011 – 2015

Agnes Scott College, Office of Residence Life Decatur, GA

  • Live in and manage the day to day operations of student apartments housing approximately 100 undergraduates. 
  • Manage the day to day operations of both theme houses and traditional residence halls housing approximately 200 undergraduate students.
  • Supervise, evaluate and mentor 10 student assistants to facilitate their professional development.
  • Direct the Theme House selection process consisting of informational sessions, composing the application, interviewing student groups and compiling staff evaluations. 
  • Implement needs based programming in the residence halls and on campus.
  • Advise/refer students to resources on matters of personal, social, and academic concerns.
  • Serve on on-call duty rotation for student crisis response
  • Assist in the selection, training, and recognition of student staff.
  • Coordinate the annual campus open house for the housing selection process.
